June Film Theatre News

We have a packed programme ahead of us in June, including two great live shows and the big screen debut for a certain Irish matriarchate known as Mrs. Brown, but more about this below.

I’m really looking forward to seeing the monster box office smash hit Godzilla (12A), which is showing in 3D and 2D for 7 days from Friday 30th May. An epic rebirth to Toho's iconic Godzilla. This spectacular adventure pits the world's most famous monster against evil creatures who, bolstered by humanity's scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. Featuring some amazing special effects, this is a ‘must-see’ film to cuddle up and enjoy on one of our new authentic cuddle seats!

Many films in June are only showing for a few days, including The Amazing Spiderman 2 (Friday 6th – Sunday 8th June), Locke (Monday 9th – Thursday 12th June), The Grand Budapest Hotel (Sunday 8th and Wednesday 11th June), Bad Neighbours (Friday 13th – Sunday 15th June) and Blended (Monday 16th – Thursday 19th June), so please check our advert and website carefully, to make sure you don’t visit us to see the wrong film!

Live show fans can look forward to the rocking return of The Wild Oats on Wednesday 4th June, by popular demand, for another evening of fine entertainment to celebrate 100 years of entertainment at Leiston Film Theatre. Then, on Wednesday 25th June, we welcome the wartime cavalcade that is Bless ‘Em All - starring comedy entertainer Steve Barclay, Britain's greatest virtuoso of the Ukelele Andy Eastwood and full supporting cast, with the live music of the Martyn St. James Band. A fitting tribute to our Armed Forces of yesterday, today and tomorrow, with all the great songs and music of the 1940's. Tickets for both these brilliant shows are now available from the Film Theatre box office on 01728 830549 or online at: www.leistonfilmtheatre.co.uk.

Our BIG film for June is Mrs Brown’s Boys D’ Movie, which is showing  from the UK release date of Friday 27th June. In this big screen outing, Agnes Brown, finds her livelihood as a market trader under threat from a ruthless developer, so she and her family embark on a campaign to save her stall, aided as only the Browns will be by a motley troop of blind trainee Ninjas, an alcoholic solicitor, and a barrister with Tourettes Syndrome!

As always, please see our advertisement or visit our brilliant website for full programme details, or simply give us a call and we’ll email you a copy of our latest programme.

We look forward to welcoming you to Suffolk’s oldest cinema, with all the new films, very soon.

Wayne Burns.
