The month of May really is packed full of action at Leiston Film Theatre, plus another great money saving 2-FOR-1 cinema ticket offer for the half term school holidays, so read on for full details.

Tom Cruise is back on the big screen in the visually stunning Oblivion (12A) in which he plays one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth - part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war. Living in and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring experience is brought crashing down when he recuses a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

The action continues in Olympus Has Fallen (15), which is on screen from Friday 17th May. When the White house is captured by a terrorist mastermind and the President is kidnapped, a disgraced former Presidential guard finds himself trapped within the building and having to rely on his inside knowledge to help retake the White House, save the President and avert an even bigger disaster.

International singing sensation, Mary Duff will be making a special appearance at her favorite Suffolk Venue - The Film Theatre, on Wednesday 15th May. Mary's appearance marks her only UK solo tour in 2013 and promises an intimate evening of sheer artistry, from one of Ireland's leading vocalists, along with her brilliant band. Our May program comes to a close with the highly anticipated Star Trek Into Darkness (12A), which is on screen from Friday 24th may in 3D and digital 2D on Monday 27th may. When the crew of the Enterprise is called back home, they find an unstoppable forces of terror from their own organization has detonated the fleet and everything it stands for, leaving our world in a state of crisis. With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction.

Looking ahead, Leonardo DiCaprio stars in The Great Gatsby (12A), on screen from Friday 31st May. A writer travels to New City in the spring of 1922, chasing his 'American Dream', landing next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby. It is thus that he is drawn into the captivating world of super rich, their illusions, love and deceits.
