2013 has certainly arrived and what better way to kick start the year than a good old fashioned Panto! Our annual Bright Sparks Panto, this year was Cinderella which certainly started the year off in style, performing to sell out audiences the Bright Sparks showed cased yet another hilarious and fun filled panto, which was enjoyed by all. We would like to thank everyone for their kind Facebook messages, which can be read at either Leiston Film Theatre or Bright Sparks Panto Facebook pages.

As we now return to our big screen we start to head in to award season and here at Leiston Film Theatre we have a number of films that are set to win many awards at the Golden Globes, BAFTS and Oscars, so don't miss out and see if you can watch them all!

A ground-breaking film adaptation of the global hit stage musical, LES MISERABLES (12A), starts from Friday 25th January. After serving a long prison sentence for a petty crime, Jean Valjean becomes a noble force for good. But he reckons with Inspector Javert, the policeman who pursues him obsessively for breaking his parole. set against the tumultuous backdrop of French revolutionary history. With an all-star cast singing their parts live, one not to be missed this years!

Kick starting February Dustin Hoffman directs QUARTET (12A). Cecily, Reggie and Wilfred are in a home for retired opera singers. Every year, on October 10, there is a concert to celebrate Verdi's birthday and they take part. Jean, who used to be married to Reggie, arrives at the home and disrupts their equilibrium. She acts like a diva, but refuses to sing. Still, the show must go on... and it does.

For three days only and in outstanding 3D the most talked about film of the year so far, LIFE OF PI 3D (12A) from Friday 8th February. A young man who survives a disaster at sea is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While cast away, he forms an unexpected connection with another survivor... a fearsome Bengal tiger.

Not forgetting our movie juniors we have Walt Disney's new release WREAK-IT RALPH in 3D & 2D (PG) on over the February half term. Ralph is a video game villain who wants to be a hero and sets out to fulfill his dream, but his quest brings havoc to the whole arcade where he lives. Great family fun this half term.

Over the half term period we have something for the adults too...the extremely outrageous comedy ever made, MOVIE 43 (15), starring an endless parade of famous faces, 'Movie 43' pushes both the boundaries of taste and comedy as we know it, putting each actor in bizarre scenarios to create an outrageously twisted tale where the shocks are just as big as the laughs.

Rounding up February, Steven Spielberg's latest blockbuster LINCOLN (12A), from Friday 22nd February. Starring Daniel Day-Lewis who's brilliant portrayal of American's President Lincoln in a time where the civil War continues to rage and the president struggles with carnage on the battlefield and as he fights with many inside his own cabinet on the decision to emancipate the slaves. Award winning and one not to be missed!
