Now here's a scary thought... at the time of writing this, the school holidays are only three weeks away and with this unpredictable weather that we are currently enjoying, we at the Film Theatre have produced a brilliant line-up of BIG screen blockbusters to keep everyone entertained throughout July and August, so read on and start planning for your next visit to your local digital 3D cinema.

Those of us, who genuinely care for our local independent cinemas (and we know there are thousands of you) will not want to miss our special screenings of the independent, award winning British film/documentary THE LAST PROJECTIONIST (12A) on Sunday 1st and Wednesday 4th July. The Last Projectionist charts the amazing history o UK independent cinema, taking a tour of some of the most magical picture houses in the world and we are especially please that the film's director, Tom Lawes, will personally introduce the film on Wednesday 4th July, followed by a Q & A.

July gets under way with the Ridle Scott's PROMETHEUS 3D (15), which shows from Friday 2nd July and in digital 2D on Monday 6th July. A team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.

Everyone is talking about the smash-hot romantic comedy THE FIVE YEAR ENGAGEMENT (15), which is showing from Friday 6th July and comes from the creators of Bridesmaids. Exactly one year after Tom (Jason Segal) meets Violet (Emily Blunt), he surprises her with a ring. By all accounts, the pair are destined for their happily ever after. However, this engaged couple just keep getting tripped up on the long walk down the aisle.

Requested by many of our cinema patrons SNOW WHITE AND THE HUNTSMAN (12A), plays from Friday 13th July. In a twist to the fairy tale, the imprisoned Snow White escapes just as the Magic Mirror declares her the source of the Evil Queen's immortality. A local huntsman is sent to capture Snow White, but becomes her protector in a quest to vanquish the Evil Queen.

Our BIG film for July and showing at Leiston Film Theatre from the UK release date of Friday 20th July is THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (12A). The spectacular finale in the Dark Knight series picks up eight years after Batman took the fall for Two Face's crimes and a new terrorist leader overwhelms Gotham's finest and Batman resurfaces to protect a city that has branded him an enemy. August is filled with some terrific family films including ICE AGE 4: CONTINENTAL DRIFT 3D (U) and THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 3D (12A), with both films showing from Friday 3rd August. In Ice Age 4, Manny, Diego and Sid embark upon another adventure after their continent is set adrift. Using an iceberg as a ship, they encounter sea creatures and battle pirates as they explore a new world. The Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker finds a clue that might help him understand why his parents disappeared when he was young. His path puts him on a collision course with the sinister Dr. Connor's alter-ego, The Lizard, leaving Peter with a decision to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
