February Film Theatre News

Jan 2012

"Absolutely wonderful", "Just brilliant" and "Fantastic" were just a few of the amazing comments for the Bright Sparks panto, which performed to sell-out crowds in January. Huge thanks to the 1200 panto-goers who laughed and shouted all the way to the top of the beanstalk! Look out for our next panto - Cinderella, which will take to the stage between the 11th-13th January 2013! Tickets on sale from Monday 13th February, with 1.00 off all advance tickets for a limited time.

The month of February promises one thing at the Film Theatre ... queues!

Our big film for February is Steven Spielberg's critically acclaimed and multi-award nominated War Horse (12A), showing from Friday 3rd February. This really is a very moving film, telling the story of a young man named Albert, who enlists to service in WWI after his beloved horse, Joey, is sold to the cavalry. Albert's hopeful journey takes him out of England and across Europe as the war rages on. A simply amazing film. Book your seats now!

The other film to look out for is the return of the lovable rodents in Chipmunks: Chip-wrecked (U), which is playing for five matinees only from Monday 13th February. Playing around while aboard a cruise ship, the Chipmunks and Chipettes accidentally go overboard and end up marooned in a tropical paradise. They soon discover their new turf is not as deserted as it seems! We are offering a 2-for-1 promotion for this film, so simply grab your voucher from our box office (while stocks last), or keep an eye on our Leiston Film Theatre Facebook page, print your voucher and you can visit your local cinema for less during the school half term holidays!

There is much excitment surrounding the film Chronicle (12A), in which three high school friends suddenly gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery. Initially they use their powers to play innocent pranks on each other and people around them, but soon, they find their lives spinning out of control and their friendship tested, as they gain confidence and embrace their darker sides. The trailer looks amazing - you can see this and all other trailers on the Film Theatre website.

February comes to a close with the critically acclaimed The Artist (PG), which plays from Friday 24th February, with matinees on Sunday 26th and Wednesday 29th. Set in Hollywood, 1927, silent movie star George Valentin wonders if the arrival of talking pictures will cause him to fade into oblivion until he meets Peppy Miller, a young dancer set for a big break. An absolute must-see movie experience, nominated for 10 Academy Awards.

As aways, take time to explore our website and see what's on at your local cinema, or click here to book your tickets.
