Ho, ho, ho! With the festive season almost upon us, everyone at Leiston Film Theatre would like to wish all our patrons a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you all for supporting us through the past year, which has indeed been a very busy time and 2010 comes to an end with some fantastic festive treats for you, both on our stage and screen.

We are thrilled to be screening special one day showings of Grease Sing-a-long (PG) where you are encouraged to sing along with the film! Whether you're a T-Bird, or a Pink Lady, grab your friends and be part of this special one-off event. Why not come dressed up - we are! If you need a costume, our new costume hire department has a great collection of award winning costumes to hire, with hire fees staring at only 5.50! Please ask at our box office for more details!

Our next film takes is based on the true story of the infamous murderers Burke and Hare (15). Andy Serkis and Simon Pegg retell the tale of two hapless men as they fall into the highly profitable business of providing dead bodies for the medical fraternity in 19th Century Edinburgh. The one thing they were short of, however, was dead bodies!

Those of you who enjoyed the smash-hit comedy 'The Hangover' will want to see Due Date (15), a hilarious road-trip comedy, starring duo Robert Downey Jr and Zack Galifianakis, in which a desperate father-to-be must get to LA in five days to be at the birth of his firstborn. When his luggage and wallet are stolen, he is forced to accept an offer to hitch a ride cross-country and in doing so embarks on a terrifying and agonising journey.

Our big film for the festive period is The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (PG), which opens on Friday 17th December and plays throughout Christmas. The Pevensie children return to Narnia, where they meet up with Prince Caspian for a trip across the sea aboard the royal ship The Dawn Treader. Along the way they encounter dragons, dwarves, merfolk, and a band of lost warriors before reaching the edge of the world. The perfect magical 3D family film for the festive holidays.

We also have a number of live shows coming up in December.Whole Lotta Led - A Tribute to Led Zeppelin features the UK's greatest Led Zeppelin tribute band, as praised by Jimmy Page himself and appears on our stage on Saturday 11th December. Tickets are priced 12.50 and are available from our box office. Almost as traditional as Christmas itself, the Leiston Royal British Legion Band present their popular annual seasonal concert on Wednesday 15th December at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced 6.00 and are also available from our box office, or by clicking here.

January brings another fun-filled traditional Bright Sparks pantomime, when Leiston's acclaimed amateur dramatic society welcome you all aboard for a magical voyage to Treasure Island on a quest for booty and pirate plunder, as young Jim Hawkins and the motley crew of The Golden Behind go in search for buried treasure, only to find that evil Long John Silver and his band of pirates have mutiny on their minds and intend to keep the treasure all for themselves! You can climb aboard for performances on Thursday 6th, Friday 7th and Saturday 8th January. Early booking is definitely recommended, as tickets are already in big demand and don't forget that panto tickets make an ideal Christmas gift, as do our Film Theatre gif vouchers!

Merry Christmas to you all.
