November Film Theatre News

Well, well, well ... it seems that our customers are extremely happy with our newly installed Dolby digital 3D system. "The new 3D is brilliant - the best I've seen" said Charlotte Clark, "Awesome" says Leanne Carrington-Payne and Val Boast thought Dolby 3D is "Absolutely amazing". I have to agree with them all, but then again, I am a little biased! You can judge for yourself with our special one-day 3D screenings of Avatar: Special Edition, but more about this below.

Films for November include the acclaimed British dramatization Made In Dagenham (15), which plays from the 5th November and is based on the 1968 strike at the Ford Dagenham car plant, where female workers walked out in protest against sexual discrimination. By contrast, RED (12A) is an explosive action-comedy, featuring a stellar cast, including Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren as a group of former CIA agents, who know too much and become the Agencies top targets. The group have to use all their collective cunning, experience and teamwork to stay one step ahead of their deadly pursuers and stay alive.

Our new digital 3D projector is sure to showcase its full potential when we present special one-day screenings of Avatar: Special Edition (12A) on Sunday 14th November. Set on the distant planet of Pandora, a disabled soldier, whose consciousness is implanted into an artificial body, known as an Avatar, encounters a female native and begins a journey towards his incredible destiny. The film features previously unseen footage and has to be seen to be believed.

The BIG film for November has got to be Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (12A), which is showing from its UK release date of 19th November. This first part of the two part climax to the Potter phenomenon sees Harry, Ron and Hermione set out on their perilous mission to track down and destroy the secret to Voldemort's immortality and destruction. Without the guidance of their professors, the three friends must now rely on one another more than ever. But there are Dark Forces in their midst that threaten to tear them apart. Book your seats today by contacting our box office on 01728 830549, or online at: www.leistonfilmtheatre.co.uk.

For something a little bit different, look out for special one-day screenings of Grease Sing-a-long (PG) on Sunday 5th December, with separate screenings at 3.00pm and 7.20pm. Whether you're a T-Bird, or a Pink Lady, grab your friends and be part of this special one-off event, where you can enjoy this fabulous film in digital quality and sing along with the words on the screen! Why not dress up - we are! Tickets are now available from our box office, or via the Film Theatre website.

We have lots coming up this Christmas and we'll have full details of our seasonal package next time. But if you can't wait until then, keep an eye on our website for up-to-the-minute programme details.
