After many years of fundraising and seeking sponsorship, The Leiston Film Theatre Support club in association with the Leiston Film Theatre are pleased to announce that their 'Set the Stage Campaign' is now well under way with the installation of a state of the art digital projector and the erection of a stage frame onto the theatres' stage. All of these improvements are going to go a long way to enhance patrons cinema and live show experience. The frame will enable us to become more ambitious with a greater range of effects, such as smoke machines and glitter cannons, set designs such as extra set cloths, particularly helpful for our Pantomimes, allowing for quick scene changes. The frame will also allow us a greater range of lighting, including the use of colour which we have unfortunately lacked in the past. The next major part of Set the Stage was the installation of a permanent building at the rear of the Leiston Film Theatre. This building, (which looks a lot like a double garage, but isn't) will be used a storeroom and workshop for sets and also if necessary as a third dressing room, again this is all possible due to the hard work of the Support Club, so a big thank you to them. Update - June 07: The Workshop is up and functional, it was first used by the Angel Players for as an overflow dressing room during their recent hit show 'A handful of songs'.
Phase 3 of 'Set the Stage' involves increasing and renewing the on and off stage lighting
